Schneider Electric E124AA Micom Trip Unit Module

Schneider Electric MiCOM E124AA Micom Type E124 Capacitor Trip Unit Module is an auxiliary energy source that powers the trip coil of a circuit breaker in distribution systems when no external auxiliary supply is available. As a Capacitor Trip Unit, it uses two independent capacitor banks (two 59 J units, under 300 Vdc) to energize two different trip coils (AUX1 and AUX2), enable two consecutive trips on the same coil, or deliver up to 118 J for a single, more energetic trip. This back‑up power capability also supports operation during voltage dips or interruptions to prevent mis‑tripping and to maintain protection in substations and feeders. The E124AA module is designed to integrate with MiCOM E124 architectures, providing capacitor‑based energy storage and release for tripping as part of Schneider Electric's MiCOM protection ecosystem.
