Schneider Electric LA8-DN11 Contactor

LA8-DN11 is an auxiliary contact block for Schneider Electric’s TeSys D motor-contactor family, adding a second control contact: 1 normally open (NO) and 1 normally closed (NC). It uses screw-clamp terminals for robust wiring and is designed to attach to compatible TeSys D contactors such as LC1D09–LC1D150 and LP1D09–LP1D150, enabling signaling, interlocking, or control feedback without altering the main current path. The LA8DN11 designation is the older style; Schneider Electric lists LAD8N11 as the current side-mount replacement. In markets where LA8DN11 was offered, Schneider notes a discontinuation as of November 1, 2020, with LAD8N11 being the recommended substitute. This auxiliary block provides a compact means to monitor or influence the control circuit, for example feeding back a contactor status signal to sensors or remote controllers, or creating interlocks in motor-start sequences. These contacts are specifically 1 NO + 1 NC and terminate via screw clamps, simplifying field wiring and ensuring reliable connections in industrial control panels.
