Schneider Electric MK-4601-0-0-2 AN-1407 Pneumatic Actuator Valve is a rugged, proportional actuator designed for precise linear control of globe valves in HVAC and process piping. Built around an 11 sq in (71 cm2) diaphragm and a 1/2 in nominal stroke, it provides controlled displacement of valve stems when supplied with air through 1/8 in FNPT connections, with a maximum operating pressure of 30 psig (207 kPa). The die-cast aluminum housing houses a replaceable neoprene diaphragm (PNV-002) and includes a built-in spring that retracts the actuator shaft on loss of air pressure for fail-safe operation, while the start point is field adjustable. For the MK-4601 family, the nominal spring range is 3–6 psig (21–41 kPa), with MK-4601 offering an adjustable start point of ±1/2 psig (7–14 kPa), enabling fine-tuned proportional control. This actuator is designed to drive 1/2" to 2" VB-7xxx globe valves and can also be mounted on certain discontinued VB-9xxx valves, in upright installations with the actuator head above the valve center line. Typical overall dimensions are about 3-7/8 in high by 4-3/4 in wide by 4-3/4 in deep. AV-401 is a commonly paired valve linkage accessory, and some SKUs of this family are available with a NEMA 1 enclosure to protect internal components in dusty or damp environments.
