Schneider Electric NY2-F31 Intrinsically Safe Barrier Relay

Schneider Electric’s Telemecanique NY2-F31 Intrinsically Safe Barrier Relay provides dual-channel intrinsic safety isolation for hazardous-area interface systems, enabling NAMUR proximity sensors or dry-contact switches to interface with PLCs, DCS systems, and monitoring equipment while maintaining galvanic isolation. It is commonly installed in chemical plants, oil and gas facilities, pharmaceutical processing, refineries, and other hazardous-process automation environments. The unit accepts NAMUR or dry-contact inputs per channel and yields dual transistor outputs for each channel; supply voltage is 120/240 VAC (+10%/-15%), with sensor supply 7.7–9 VDC. Each channel supports up to 30 VDC at 100 mA, with total power consumption of 4 VA at 50/60 Hz. Mounting options include DIN rail or backplate, and terminals are captive screw with self-lifting clamps. Enclosure rating is IP20 / NEMA 1, and operating temperature is -25°C to +50°C.
