Schneider Electric XCS-A503 Safety Limit Switch

Schneider Electric’s Telemecanique XCS-A503 safety limit switch (XCSA503) is a metal-bodied safety interlock with a key-operated turret head and positive-opening safety contacts, designed to monitor guard doors, access doors, and protective enclosures to prevent hazardous machine operation when guards are opened. It provides 1 NC + 2 NO contacts with slow-break, break-before-make operation and is rated for 240 V AC-15 at 3 A (6 A at 120 V AC-15), enabling safe integration with safety relays and controllers in industrial safety circuits. The XCSA503 uses a Zamak body and head, IP67 protection, screw-clamp terminals (1 × 0.5...2 × 1.5 mm²) and a 1/2 in NPT cable entry, and is commonly applied to machine guards, safety gates, access doors, and protective enclosures; common replacements include XCSA501, XCSA502, and XCSA703.
