Sharp JW-10RC Robot Communication Module is a compact basic unit in Sharp's JW10 programmable logic controller family that provides three standard communication interfaces for robotics and automation: Computer Link, JW10 Data Link over a two-wire cable, and JW10 Remote I/O. It supports a host computer communicating with up to 63 JW10 devices, enabling scalable networks for multi‑robot or multi‑station setups. Data Link runs at 76800 (38400) bits per second, with up to seven sub‑stations and 16 bytes per substation, for a total cable length up to 500 m (1 km). Remote I/O operates at 76800 (38400) bps, with up to four sub‑stations and 60 points per station, and a total length up to 500 m (1 km). The module uses terminal‑block connections (M3 × 7 mm self‑locking) and is designed for compatible JIS crimp terminals (1.25–3). It can be mounted directly or on a 35 mm DIN rail, offers D‑type grounding, and runs on AC power in the 85–250 V range with typical consumption of 30, 55, or 60 VA depending on configuration. Password protection is supported, and the MMI port can be configured for either PG mode (with the handheld JW-15PG) or Computer Link mode; a JW-12KC cable (2 m, 25P‑9P) is used for setup. This JW-10RC module is intended for use within Sharp JW10 system architectures and is compatible with related tools such as the JW-15PG programmer and JW-300SP/JW-100SP ladder design software for integration and programming.
