Banner Engineering SM512C1 Photoelectric Sensor
Banner Engineering SM512C1 Photoelectric Sensor
Description:
The Banner Engineering SM512C1 Photoelectric Sensor is a DC, metal-housed sensor in the SM512 Series designed for reliable object detection in harsh industrial environments. It uses complementary NPN transistors (one normally open and one normally closed) with an on-state saturation voltage under 2 V at full load (and under 1 V at lighter loads), offers a 1 ms response time, and is built in a die-cast metal housing with a fully gasketed lens; it also provides reverse-polarity protection. A shielded four-conductor PVC jacketed cable runs 6 ft to connect to power and logic, and a red LED at the rear lights when the sensor is receiving a light signal; the operating temperature range is -40 to +70 °C, and Banner notes these sensors are not intended for personnel safety applications. The SM512C1 uses totally encapsulated circuitry inside a die-cast metal housing with a gasketed lens assembly, delivering robust performance in demanding environments.
