SMC MGPM40-50AZ is a compact guide cylinder with an air cushion designed for precise, space‑efficient linear actuation in automation setups. It features a 40 mm bore and a standard 50 mm stroke, using a slide bearing (bearing type M) for smooth movement, and port threads selectable as M5×0.8 or Rc. The design achieves notable weight and space savings—up to 24% lighter than earlier forms thanks to a shorter guide rod and thinner plate, and as much as 22 mm of installation clearance can be saved with the shortened rod. The cylinder is compatible with round-type auto switches and magnetic‑field resistant auto switches that can be mounted directly without spacers, and it supports configurations with two auto switches or none.
