SMC MHC2-16S Angular Style Air Gripper is a compact two‑finger, angular gripper with a 16 mm bore, optimized for gripping irregular or curved parts in tight spaces. The single‑acting model operates at 0.25–0.6 MPa (36.25–87 psi) and provides a holding moment of about 0.31 N·m, delivering reliable grip without requiring a parallel approach. It achieves high repeatability to ±0.01 mm and can cycle up to 180 times per minute, with a built‑in throttle to smooth acceleration and deceleration. An optional solid‑state auto switch with an indicator light can be mounted for automation. The MHC2 family, including the 16S, is designed for ambient temperatures from –10 to 60°C and does not require lubrication, simplifying maintenance in many industrial environments. The 16S is part of SMC’s Angular Style Standard Type line, which covers bore sizes from 10 to 25 mm, making it suitable for applications where space is limited and irregular workpieces must be grasped quickly and with repeatable accuracy.
