SMC MHM-32D is a pneumatic magnetic gripper that uses magnetic attraction to grip ferrous workpieces, eliminating the need for vacuum cups in many metal-handling tasks such as lifting, transferring, and precise placement of steel parts. With a Ø32 mm bore and Rc 1/8 port threading, this double-acting, basic-type MHM model is designed for straightforward gripping in automation lines and ships without built-in auto switches, and it includes a drop-prevention feature that helps retain a workpiece even if supply air is interrupted. Holding force depends on workpiece thickness, with about 250 N achievable at 2 mm and up to 500 N at 6 mm, providing reliable grip across common sheet metal applications.
