SMC Corporation MKB16-20RZ Rotary Clamp Cylinder

SMC's MKB16-20RZ Rotary Clamp Cylinder is a compact MK-series actuator designed for precise, repeatable rotary clamping in tight spaces. It features a 16 mm bore and a 20 mm clamp stroke, delivering reliable clamping motion in a small footprint, and it rotates clockwise (right rotating) when engaged. The unit uses mounting style B, allowing through-hole or both-end tapped installations, and its mounting dimensions are interchangeable with the MK series, simplifying integration with existing tooling. For fluid connections, port threads are available in M thread sizes (Φ12–Φ25) and Rc thread sizes (Φ32–Φ63), providing flexible fitting options. The standard model includes a built-in magnet for sensing applications and supports mounting of small auto switches on four surfaces; you can configure the cylinder with two auto switches or operate it without auto switches, depending on the control scheme. This configuration makes the MKB16-20RZ suitable for automated fixtures, machining clamps, and assembly line applications where compact rotary clamping, magnetic sensing, and versatile mounting are beneficial.
