SMC MLGPL50-100-B is a compact guide cylinder from the MLGP family that uses a ball-bushing bearing for smooth, low-friction guidance and includes an end-locking mechanism to hold the piston in place when air is removed, helping prevent drift during power loss. This double-acting unit covers bore sizes in the 50–100 mm range (including 50, 63, 80, and 100 mm variants) and features a locking option whose direction is selectable on MLGP models, enabling secure positioning at any stroke length. The design reduces weight by up to 17% compared with the sliding-bearing MLGPM variant, thanks to a shorter guide rod and thinner plate, and provides four mounting configurations with three surfaces having positioning holes for precise alignment. Piping can be routed from two directions, and small auto switches or magnetic-field-resistant switches can be mounted directly to two surfaces for sensor integration. With these characteristics, the MLGPL50-100-B is suitable for precise pick-and-place, transfer, and assembly tasks where compact form factor, reliable locking, and smooth guided motion are essential.
