Sommer Automatic SB74G Swivel Jaw Idle End
Sommer Automatic SB74G Swivel Jaw Idle End
Description:
The SB74G Swivel Jaw Idle End from Zimmer Group (SBZ series) is a compact pneumatic rotary module engineered for precise, damped swiveling of heavy workpieces. It combines a double-acting pneumatic cylinder with a robust gear-wheel transmission and a large drive flange featuring an end stop and a large central bore (from SB150). End-position sensing for 0° and 90° (or 180°) is provided by an inductive proximity switch adjustable on a rotatable cam, while integrated hydraulic shock absorbers supply adjustable end-position damping for controlled deceleration. The unit operates at a nominal 6 bar, tolerates 5–80°C, and carries IP54 protection; it weighs 1.1 kg and provides FD 1200 N and FZ 630 N. Available rotation angles are 90° and 180°, and mounting can be performed from multiple sides for flexible installation. An air flow control valve is included to regulate swing speed. With a design intended for long life and high cycle counts—up to 10 million maintenance-free cycles in its range—the SB74G is suited to automate orientation tasks in assembly, packaging, and other processes that demand repeatable end stops and reliable actuation.
