Sony XC-55BB Remote Head Camera

Sony XC-55BB Remote Head Camera is a compact, monochrome 1/3-inch interline-transfer progressive-scan camera head designed for precise remote installation in automated and surveillance systems. It uses a 1/3-inch progressive-scan CCD with a 646(H) x 485(V) active image and 485 TV lines of resolution, outputting NTSC-compatible video. The 'BB' remote-head variant places the sensor in a detachable head unit (CHU), enabling flexible mounting away from the processing electronics while powered from a 12 V DC supply. It uses an NF mount with a 12.0 mm flange distance, supporting compact lenses tailored for machine-vision applications. Powering from 12 VDC, the XC-55BB is commonly used in bottle and food inspection lines, OCR/document workflows, and highway monitoring where a small, remote head is advantageous for routing cables and locating the sensor in hard-to-reach spots.
