Square D A6.99 is a melting-alloy thermal overload unit that pairs with Square D A-series overload relays and magnetic motor starters to protect motors in 480 V circuits. This single-pole, plug-in thermal element carries a full-load current range of 4.91–5.35 A for 480 V service and uses a Class 20 standard-trip mechanism—when overheated, the solder link melts to release the mechanism and interrupt the control circuit. The unit is rated for up to 600 VAC maximum motor voltage and is designed for ambient operation around 40°C, with dimensions about 5.08 in long by 2.79 in high, mounting via plug-in integration in compatible overload relays and contactors.
