The Superior Electric Q116U POWERSTAT Variable Transformer is a manually operated, open-frame voltage regulator that accepts 120 VAC single‑phase input and delivers a continuously adjustable output from 0 up to 120 VAC. In constant-current service it provides up to 9 A, while in constant-impedance mode the maximum output current increases to 12 A at line voltage. The unit employs POWERKOTE coils for durability and has an open construction with no screening, fuses, line switches, terminal enclosures, input cords or output receptacles; the shaft is removable and can extend from either end for flexible mounting. Operable at 50/60 Hz, the output voltage tracks linearly with the control shaft, offering precise, proportional voltage control across the full range.
