Sylvania 15DQ8 Vacuum Tube 9 Pin Base Plug In

The Sylvania 15DQ8 is a compact, all-glass vacuum tube designed for nine-pin miniature sockets (Noval), engineered for plug-in replacement in mid-century television chassis. In the PCL84 family, the 15DQ8 consolidates a triode section and a pentode section in one envelope, enabling both low-noise signal amplification and higher-gain stages within a single tube. The base is a standard 9-pin miniature (Noval) configuration, ensuring compatibility with common nine-pin sockets found in vintage TV sets, and the glass envelope provides easy observation of operation and tube condition. Verified listings show Sylvania 15DQ8 units offered in boxed or new-old-stock configurations, including NOS Valvo-branded 15DQ8/PCL84 tubes that have been tested for vintage equipment, which helps collectors and restorers match era performance. Typical applications in restoration projects include front-end RF/IF amplification and audio preamp roles in classic television receivers, with the 15DQ8 often sought for authentic tone and circuit behavior in nine-pin miniatures.
