Symbol Technologies DS3578-SR Barcode Scanner

The Symbol DS3578-SR Barcode Scanner with STB3578 cradle is part of Symbol Technologies’ DS3578 Image Scanner Series (now Zebra) and presented as a complete reader-and-dock solution within Zebra’s rugged-scanners lineup. The DS3578-SR bundle, paired with the STB3578 charging cradle, was documented as a full package for scanning and docking in place, a lifecycle combination noted in Zebra’s product history. Zebra’s official notes show a Last Sale Date for the DS3578-SR (and DS3578-DP) of November 30, 2016, and a Service and Support Discontinuation Date of January 31, 2022. For customers seeking a current option, Zebra designates the DS3678-SR as the replacement in the DS3678 family, offering a migration path from the DS3578 line to a newer model while preserving compatibility with existing deployments. This lifecycle context helps buyers evaluate whether to maintain the legacy DS3578-SR/STB3578 setup or migrate to the DS3678-SR for continued support and updated capabilities.
