The Timken Company 417356 Oil Seal Radial Shaft
The Timken Company 417356 Oil Seal Radial Shaft
Description:
The Timken National 417356 oil seal is a general-purpose radial shaft seal designed to retain lubricants and prevent contaminants from entering rotating equipment. It uses a nitrile (NBR) sealing element and a Type 41 multi-lip, spring-loaded configuration that minimizes lubricant leakage while resisting dirt, dust, and moisture. This steel-cased seal fits a 4.000 in (101.600 mm) shaft and a 5.131 in (130.330 mm) outside diameter, with a 5.125 in (130.175 mm) housing bore and an overall width of 0.500 in (12.700 mm); it is built in Timken’s 410000 series with an inner-case construction and Redi-Coat for easier handling. The seal supports up to 3000 ft/min shaft surface speed and tolerates misalignment of 0.015 in at 800 rpm or 0.010 in at 4200 rpm, making it suitable for general industrial machinery such as gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, compressors, reducers, and electric motors operating under normal industrial conditions. The operating temperature range is -40°F to 225°F (-40°C to 107°C). Common replacements include SKF 39975, CR 417356, and National 417356.
