The Timken Company 417487 Radial Shaft Oil Seal

The Timken National 417487 radial shaft oil seal is a Type 41, series 410000 seal designed to retain lubricants and exclude contaminants in rotating equipment. Its nitrile (NBR) sealing element and spring-loaded multi-lip construction minimize lubricant leakage and help extend bearing life in industrial gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, electric motors, reducers, and compressors operating under normal conditions. The seal features a shaft diameter of 3.000 in (76.200 mm), outside diameter of 4.254 in (108.052 mm), and housing bore of 4.249 in (107.925 mm), all housed in a steel case with inner case, and it includes Timken’s Redi-Coat coating. Overall width is 0.437 in (11.100 mm). Maximum shaft surface speed is 3000 ft/min, with misalignment tolerance of 0.015 in at 800 rpm and 0.010 in at 4200 rpm. The operating temperature range is -40°F to 225°F (-40°C to 107°C). Common replacements include SKF 29278, CR 417487, and National 417487.
