The Timken Company 470409 Radial Shaft Oil Seal

The Timken National Oil Seal 470409 (MPN 470409) is a double-lip, spring-loaded oil seal in Timken’s National line (Series 470000) designed to retain lubricants and prevent dirt, moisture, and other contaminants from entering rotating shaft systems. Made with nitrile (NBR) lip material, this solid construction seal has no inner case and includes Redi-Coat. It features an inch-size shaft diameter of 1.937 in (49.20 mm), outside diameter of 2.416 in (61.366 mm), housing bore of 2.412 in (61.265 mm), and width of 0.468 in (11.887 mm). With a maximum shaft surface speed of 3000 ft/min and misalignment tolerances of 0.015 in at 800 rpm and 0.010 in at 4200 rpm, it is suitable for continuous operation from -40°F to 225°F (-40°C to 107°C). Common applications include industrial gearboxes, pumps, electric motors, conveyor systems, manufacturing equipment, and agricultural machinery, used in replacement, rebuilds, retrofits, and preventive maintenance to protect bearings and lubricated components.
