The Timken Company 472635 Multi-Lip Oil Seal

The Timken Company 472635 National Oil Seal is a double-lip, spring-loaded shaft seal designed to retain lubricants and prevent dirt and moisture from entering rotating shaft systems. It features a nitrile (NBR) lip in a steel-case construction with Redi-Coat for easier installation, and the inch-size dimensions include a 1.552 in shaft diameter (39.421 mm), 2.506 in outside diameter (63.652 mm), 2.502 in housing bore (63.551 mm), and 0.500 in overall width (12.700 mm). It is rated for up to 7 psi and supports a maximum shaft surface speed of 3000 ft/min, with misalignment tolerances of 0.015 in at 800 rpm and 0.010 in at 4200 rpm, and an operating temperature range of -40°F to 225°F (-40°C to 107°C). Typical applications include industrial gearboxes, pumps, electric motors, conveyor systems, manufacturing equipment, agricultural machinery, and general power transmission systems; it also serves as a common replacement for SKF 15450 and the National 470000 series oil seals, among others.
