The Timken Company 473471 Radial Lip Oil Seal

The Timken National Oil Seal 473471 is a double-lip, spring-loaded radial oil seal designed to retain lubricants and block dirt, moisture, and other contaminants in rotating shaft systems. Part of Timken’s 470000 series, this solid construction oil seal uses Nitrile (NBR) lip material with Redi-Coat and features a Type 47 design for reliable sealing in demanding environments. It fits an inch-based shaft diameter of 2.187 in (55.55 mm), outside diameter of 3.066 in (77.88 mm), housing bore of 3.062 in (77.77 mm), and overall width of 0.375 in (9.525 mm). Maximum shaft surface speed is 3000 ft/min, with misalignment tolerance of 0.015 in at 800 rpm and 0.010 in at 4200 rpm, and it operates from -40°F to 225°F (-40°C to 107°C). Typical applications include general-purpose rotating equipment such as industrial gearboxes, pumps, electric motors, conveyors, manufacturing equipment, agricultural machinery, and power transmission systems; it is a common replacement for SKF 21775, CR 21775, and National 470000 series oil seals.
