Description:
The Turck BI2-EH6.5K-AP6X is a compact 6.5 mm inductive proximity sensor with a 2 mm rated switching distance, designed for precise metal detection in tight spaces. It uses a stainless steel housing (1.4305 / AISI 303) with a smooth barrel and a flush-mount design, and a PA66 active sensing area, measuring 23.5 mm in length for a low-profile installation. The device is a 3‑wire, normally open (NO) PNP output unit, operating on a 10–30 V DC supply and capable of handling up to 150 mA with a maximum voltage drop of 1.8 V at Ie. It features robust electrical protections, including short-circuit protection (cyclic) and wire break/reverse polarity protection, plus an isolation test voltage of 0.5 kV and a residual current below 0.1 mA. The BI2-EH6.5K-AP6X switches at frequencies up to 3 kHz and offers a repeat accuracy of ≤ 2% of full scale with 20% hysteresis, making it suitable for repeatable position sensing in automation tasks.
