Turck BI5-S18-AZ3X Inductive Proximity Sensor

The Turck BI5-S18-AZ3X is a 5 mm sensing distance inductive proximity sensor in an M18 x 1 flush-mount housing, optimized for non-contact detection of metal targets in harsh industrial environments. It is widely used for part presence verification, machine positioning, end-of-travel monitoring, and conveyor sequencing, with common applications on conveyors, packaging lines, robotic cells, palletizing systems, and other automated equipment where reliable metal sensing is essential. The device is a 2-wire AC/DC sensor with normally open output and an integral cable, rated for 20-250 VAC or 10-300 VDC, up to 400 mA AC or 300 mA DC, and a 20 Hz switching frequency, all enclosed in a PA12-GF30 reinforced plastic housing that is IP67 rated and 64 mm long. Operating from -25°C to +70°C and CE, IEC, and RoHS compliant, it can be substituted with Turck replacements such as BI5-M18-AZ3X, BI5-G18-AZ3X, or BI5U-M18-AP6X-H1141 when retrofit or replacement is needed.
