Turck BL20-2AI-THERMO-PI Programmable Logic Controller Module

The Turck BL20-2AI-THERMO-PI is a two‑channel analog input module for direct thermocouple temperature signal acquisition within the BL20 I/O system. It is designed for industrial temperature monitoring in process skids, ovens, furnaces, packaging lines, food processing equipment, and plastics processing machinery, supporting thermocouples of types B, E, J, K, N, R, S, and T with 16‑bit resolution and an accuracy better than 0.2% at 23°C. The module draws power from the BL20 backplane with 24 VDC (≤30 mA from the field supply and ≤45 mA from the module bus) and typically dissipates ≤1 W, while providing galvanic isolation from the field via optocouplers and internal cold junction compensation through the base module. Its screw terminal or cage clamp connections, plug‑in BL20 mounting, and hot‑swappable design enable straightforward system expansion and retrofits. As a fieldbus independent unit, it supports Ethernet/IP, PROFIBUS, PROFINET, and other networks, reducing wiring complexity in environments like heat treatment equipment, industrial ovens, and process heating lines. The BL20‑2AI‑THERMO‑PI offers a maximum analog frequency of 2 Hz, cycle time ≤300 ms, IP20 protection, operating temperature 0°C to +55°C, and approvals including CE, cULus, Class I Division 2, and Zone 2, with compact dimensions of 12.6 × 74.1 × 55.4 mm for tight panel installations.
