Turck Inc. BI5-M18-LIU Inductive Proximity Sensor

The Turck BI5-M18-LIU is a Turck LIU-series analog inductive proximity sensor designed for contactless distance measurement of metallic targets in industrial automation. It delivers a 2–4 mm measuring range with simultaneous 0–10 VDC and 0–20 mA outputs over an operating voltage of 15–30 VDC, featuring a no-load supply current of 8 mA and a maximum output current of 20 mA. Encased in a chrome-plated brass (CuZn) M18 x 1 threaded flush-mount housing with IP67 protection and a 2 m integral cable, it offers a 200 Hz switching frequency, linearity ≤3%, and repeatability ≤1% of the measuring range. This sensor supports analog position, displacement, and level sensing in applications such as conveyors, material handling equipment, machine tools, and packaging machinery where continuous distance feedback to PLCs, HMIs, or process controllers is required.
